The Soviet Union was backing Egypt.
LBJ made his comment to the admiral that was on my ship, the USS America when the admiral protested to McNamara about recalling the planes sent to defend the Liberty. McNamara put LBJ on the phone and he repeated his infamous quote. It wasn’t revealed until after the admiral’s death.

The LBJ quote was heard by Admiral Ward Boston, who requested that it not be made public until after Adm. Boston died. That promise was kept. We adopted the Israeli story that they mistook the Liberty for the El Quesir, an aging Egyptian horse carrier. The El Quesir was half the length of the Liberty and about 1/10th the tonnage. She had a top speed of about 8 knots. She had no antenna array and didn't fly a 3' X 5" American flag during the attack. Despite that the Israelis said they fired on her because she was exiting the area at 30 knots. The Liberty couldn't make 30 knots either. All this when subsequent investigation showed the El Quesir was tied up at a pier in El Arish during the entire attack. The Israelis then placed the wheel and bell of the torpedo boat that nearly sank the Liberty, killing 25 below decks, into their naval museum along with a statue in front of the building commemorating the attack. We presented the Liberty captain with the Congressional Medal of Honor in secret with no media so we didn't offend the Israelis. We actually asked their ambassador if Israel "would mind" if we gave the captain the medal. Israeli supporters will never view Sacrificing Liberty or read Hounam's book, Operation Cyanide, because there is too much truth there, truth that puts the lie to every one of their excuses.

I was only 11 months old when JFK was assassinated. Over the years (63 at present) I have had doubts about Oswald being the shooter, and the fact that he himself was killed by Jack Ruby has only strengthened these doubts.

Professional marksmen cannot make those shots the first try. One guy did on the third try. You don’t get multiple attempts. If a professional marksman can’t do it on the first try then it cannot be done.

The other piece of information which is never mentioned is that the limousine was close enough to the window of the building that anyone with a decent arm could have hit it with a rock or a baseball. That's how close the president was.
the bullet blew off JFKs scalp which flew to the back of the open limo and which was reflexly retrieved by Jacky. That could only mean the bullet came from the front. Oswald's bullet would have come from the rear, and would have blown the scalp forward.
Have you been to Dallas and the Book Depository? The distance from the window to the limousine was no more than a few hundred feet and someone with a reasonably good arm could have hit Kennedy in the back of the head with a baseball.

I toured the depository once & it seemed to me from that distance that a slow moving car with a seated stationary figure exposed would be an easy target.
Lee Harvey Oswald was definitely there and fired his gun. People who think he wasn't involved are wrong. But there was at least one other person. Oswald wasn't that good a shot. You don't get a second chance on something like this. The people who set this up would have wanted a back up.

So a weapons expert needed 3 tries. You don't get three tries. And Mr. Donahue was a professional while Oswald was not. And in the Michigan study, not one of 50 shooters got it on the first try. I will say again. You don't get 2 tries.
There have been plenty of recreations of the shots and it's not that difficult.
Less than 150 yards with a rifle with a 4x scope that's accurate to much longer ranges.
Don't forget that Oswald was a marine certified sharpshooter, any claims that he was a poor or moderate shot were verbal reports from men who knew him years before and talking about him when he was publicly known as a murderer and traitor.
Personally I believe the marine corps certifications are reliable, as what incentive do they have to certify a man who doesn't meet their standards?
Also Oswald had that rifle for nearly a year, presumably he had practiced with it, and there's a good change that he used it in an attempt to kill General Edwin Walker earlier that year.

I think that’s a good example of the difference between second hand subjective reports about what people think and objective reports that they wrote down on paper at the time. For example, I saw that Delgado interview and he on TV where the whole world could see what he thought of a man who was now reviled as a murderer and traitor.
Who knows what the conditions of that shooting practice in Russia was or of the officer who reported on it much later. Or the Marine corps officer, who presumably was comparing Oswald’s shoot to the other marines he has known.
But the Marine corps did certify him.
In addition, he was firing from a prepared position, very well could have used a rest. he knew where the target was coming from and was ready, the target was moving but moving directly away from him and would have only changed elevation slightly, he had the height advantage.
As for training there’s no direct evidence he trained with that rifle but it’s very reasonable to assume he did, especially since there’s evidence to link him to the attempted killing of General Edwin Walker.
So there’s very strong evidence that Oswald was professionally trained, he had a suitable weapon and it was not a particularly difficult shot.
Oh, and 3 shots in 6 seconds is only reloading twice, since it would have been loaded before the first shot.

Peter Hounam interviewed a USAF B-52 pilot who said he and other pilots were aroused from their beds at a base in northern California and manned nuclear armed bombers. This occurred fully one hour prior to the USS Liberty being attacked. This showed that we knew the ship was to be attacked and we risked nuclear war with the then-Soviet Union in attacking Cairo. The Soviet Union was backing Egypt.
LBJ made his comment to the admiral that was on my ship, the USS America when the admiral protested to McNamara about recalling the planes sent to defend the Liberty. McNamara put LBJ on the phone and he repeated his infamous quote. It wasn’t revealed until after the admiral’s death.

I’m not disputing what happened, I’m disputing that President Johnson sold the sailors on the Liberty out. My understanding is that Israel provided the USA with the tapes of their pilots communication with their controllers and concluded that Israel didn’t know it was a U.S. ship.
Before, during and following the Israeli attack on the Liberty, the Navy had in position a Boeing 707 (military #EC-121 overhead. It was manned by audio intercept officers, 2 of whom spoke Hebrew. These may be the tapes you refer to but regardless, we classified those tapes Top Secret and their contents have never been revealed despite numerous FOIA requests. The LBJ quote was heard by Admiral Ward Boston, who requested that it not be made public until after Adm. Boston died. That promise was kept. We adopted the Israeli story that they mistook the Liberty for the El Quesir, an aging Egyptian horse carrier. The El Quesir was half the length of the Liberty and about 1/10th the tonnage. She had a top speed of about 8 knots. She had no antenna array and didn't fly a 3' X 5" American flag during the attack. Despite that the Israelis said they fired on her because she was exiting the area at 30 knots. The Liberty couldn't make 30 knots either. All this when subsequent investigation showed the El Quesir was tied up at a pier in El Arish during the entire attack. The Israelis then placed the wheel and bell of the torpedo boat that nearly sank the Liberty, killing 25 below decks, into their naval museum along with a statue in front of the building commemorating the attack. We presented the Liberty captain with the Congressional Medal of Honor in secret with no media so we didn't offend the Israelis. We actually asked their ambassador if Israel "would mind" if we gave the captain the medal. Israeli supporters will never view Sacrificing Liberty or read Hounam's book, Operation Cyanide, because there is too much truth there, truth that puts the lie to every one of their excuses.

Excellent account by someone who was there to witness the Kennedy years close up . Evelyn Lincoln described the enemies of Kennedy perfectly . I often say when asked questions about the assassination, that for LBJ it was either oblivion, even prison, or The White House.
I was only 11 months old when JFK was assassinated. Over the years (63 at present) I have had doubts about Oswald being the shooter, and the fact that he himself was killed by Jack Ruby has only strengthened these doubts.
Warren was certainly not an admirer of Kennedy, so that commission and its conclusions are questionable at best.
Overall, it is clear that Kennedy has a lot of enemies, people who had too much to lose, and seeing as the far-right has its claws in government today, they still have a lot to lose.

I have always believed Johnson was involved. Clearly, she believed it was an organized hit. Jackie forbade John, Jr. from getting his pilot's license because she believed he was always a potential hit.

Professional marksmen cannot make those shots the first try. One guy did on the third try. You don’t get multiple attempts. If a professional marksman can’t do it on the first try then it cannot be done.

I toured the depository once & it seemed to me from that distance that a slow moving car with a seated stationary figure exposed would be an easy target.

Lee Harvey Oswald was definitely there and fired his gun. People who think he wasn't involved are wrong. But there was at least one other person. Oswald wasn't that good a shot. You don't get a second chance on something like this. The people who set this up would have wanted a back up.

So a weapons expert needed 3 tries. You don't get three tries. And Mr. Donahue was a professional while Oswald was not. And in the Michigan study, not one of 50 shooters got it on the first try. I will say again. You don't get 2 tries.
There have been plenty of recreations of the shots and it's not that difficult.
Less than 150 yards with a rifle with a 4x scope that's accurate to much longer ranges.
Don't forget that Oswald was a marine certified sharpshooter, any claims that he was a poor or moderate shot were verbal reports from men who knew him years before and talking about him when he was publicly known as a murderer and traitor.
Personally I believe the marine corps certifications are reliable, as what incentive do they have to certify a man who doesn't meet their standards?
Also Oswald had that rifle for nearly a year, presumably he had practiced with it, and there's a good change that he used it in an attempt to kill General Edwin Walker earlier that year.

I think that’s a good example of the difference between second hand subjective reports about what people think and objective reports that they wrote down on paper at the time. As for training there’s no direct evidence he trained with that rifle but it’s very reasonable to assume he did, especially since there’s evidence to link him to the attempted killing of General Edwin Walker.
